Look Out X-Games!

Today Maggie and I tried our hand at snow boarding. Although, to be more accurate, we really tried our butts, faces, backs, and sides at sledding. We didn't spend much time on the boards themselves.

For those of you that have never been, snow boarding is crazy hard. It took me five hours before I felt confident in my ability to get from the top to the bottom of the bunny slope without falling down. However, it is fun once you start to get the hang of it. That first day, though, is pretty miserable. Two things that you take for granted when you ski are that the skis pop off and you can control how you fall. Not the case for snow boarding. Consequently, you fall every which way. Experience seems to indicate that you'll fall in whichever direction will cause the most pain. Still, I thought it was fun (while I was upright).

Who cares if it's difficult and painful? The important thing is that you conquered another sport! I might go snowboarding in a couple of weeks. If so, I'll let you know how it goes...

I agree! I'm all about conquering a new sport...especially if it's on the X-games. Street Luge is next!
