Odd Amount of Free Time = New Blog Post

I find myself with twenty minutes of free time, and that's not long enough to do anything worthwhile in the world of academia. Hence, I bring you a new life update! (One of these days law school will end, my creativity will return, and my blog will return to the glory days of old! -- Go Dragons!!!).

So anyways, as Mags mentioned on her blog, I have accepted an offer at Quarles & Brady, a good sized firm up here in Milwaukee. They also have offices in Naples, Phoenix, Chicago, and Madison. I'm not sure what group I'll be in yet, but it'll either be corporate, real estate, or municipal finance. Read: Boo for litigation! The firm really is awesome, and the people are fantastic. If you ever happen to fly into, out of, or over Milwaukee, my building is the one downtown with the giant glowing Quarles & Brady sign. I think we were trying to make the other firms jealous (either that, or we wanted to be seen from space). I start next September, so the countdown to the real world has begun.

On another note, my Tigers lost last weekend. I'm expecting cards and condolences from everyone any second now, but I want you to know that I'm taking it very well. I had a morning of mourning and then moved on. This season is about the future. We played 18 freshmen against USF. This season may be rocky, but I will not desert my Tigers, and I know that better times are on the horizon. (And our defense is still absolutely sick.)

On an unrelated note, I'm Editor-in-Chief of the Sports Law Review and Business Editor of the actual Law Review, so I stay really busy doing a lot of administrative stuff and reading articles. However, I get four credit hours between the two of them, which means that is four less hours a week I have to spend in a classroom. I'll make that trade any day. Plus, my schedule this semester is surprisingly light. It wasn't planned that way, but there's only one class that I have real homework for. I only have 1 1/2 real finals (the others are papers). I even have one class where we watch a movie just about every Thursday (Law & Pop Culture...aka Law & Popcorn). I'm also doing an internship with the Marquette Athletics Department this semester, which is kinda cool, but it's unpaid and I don't get credit for it, so it's kind of a wash. I'm really doing it because I have to in order to get my Sports Law Certificate. Law school has taught me that life is an awful lot of hoop-jumping.

It is currently 62 degrees outside. It was 51 when I went to work this morning. I think summer in Milwaukee only lasts about a week or so, and it was last week. Fall is here. So, despite having a pool, it was only warm enough to use approximately five times this summer. They drain it once it gets cold, but I think they should just let it freeze over and turn it into in-house ice-skating. Just a thought.

Well, I guess i'm gonna go to class now. I don't really want to, but I have no room to complain now that Mags is back full-time.

L'uomo vecchio e piccolo. I just wanted to prove to Maggie that I'm practicing. I'm out!
